Christantus Uche Sparks Dominant Crystal Palace Win at Shelbourne.
Despite embarking on their first-ever continental campaign, Oliver Glasner's side are learning very quickly. Missing key figures like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles left Dublin with a comfortable result that all but guarantees them a place in the Conference League playoffs.
Another victory in their next match against Finland's KuPS should be sufficient to secure direct entry to the last 16, especially following a previous setback against Strasbourg.
Squad Members Seize the Moment
This match offered a platform for some of Palace's lesser-used players to impress. Christantus Uche, making only his second start since joining on loan from Getafe, opened the account with a well-taken goal. Forward Eddie Nketiah contributed a second, scoring for the second game in match.
The Shelbourne side that had finished their domestic season proved outmatched against a mostly rotated Palace lineup. The visitors were further depleted by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are out with knee problems.

In spite of torrential rain in Dublin, Palace rapidly established dominance. A slick move in the 11th minute, sparked by Daichi Kamada's clever pass, let Nketiah to lay on Uche for a simple finish.
Midfielder Adam Wharton came close minutes later, driving a powerful shot over the bar. Nketiah subsequently claimed for a penalty after racing into the area, but the referee waved away the appeals.
Ex-Arsenal striker didn't need to wait long to find his goal, tapping home from close range after Uche's effort had hit the post.
Shelbourne were hanging on for dear life. Defender Kameron Ledwidge was lucky to escape a booking for a couple of robust tackles on Yeremy Pino, before Chris Richards struck the woodwork with a powerful header from a corner.
Pino Wraps Up the Contest
The match was as good as over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past some comically weak challenges before calmly dispatching a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.
Following the break, manager Oliver Glasner took the chance to withdraw key individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse came close to scoring with his very first touch, only to see his effort blocked.
Esse was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one shot crash off both posts before being clasped on the line. Uche then blazed a glaring chance, showing there is still scope for improvement in his game.
A solitary concern for Palace was a second-half injury to Justin Devenny, who was forced off. This paved the way for 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to earn his first-team debut, capping an otherwise perfect night for the visiting side.
