I'll overwhelm 'serious boxer' Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be shown live on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters came face-to-face to publicize the upcoming bout.
Ex two-time unified boxing king Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge mismatch - at Miami arena on December 19th.
Fighter's Mentality
"I plan to damage his features and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," the British boxer, 35, declared.
"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I intend to seriously aim to hurt him. That's my goal."
Respectful Interaction
In spite of those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul instead attacked former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Fury
Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul win.
"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua said.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Opponent
In spite of saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he stated.
Jake Paul's Background
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.
He was defeated by British fighter Fury in last year.
Financial Attraction
However, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's largest commercial attractions, consistently making massive paydays.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly in the works for two years from now.
"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul said.
Size Disparity
As Joshua and Paul met for the usual stare-down, with their height and weight contrast evident, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the fight is really going ahead.
